The universe is continually bringing us opportunities for growth and change and forward movement. We are always presented with multiple ways to just get out of our own way and allow the new and exciting to enter. But growth and change will indeed take you out of your comfort zone. Most people are comfortable in their comfort zones, no matter how miserable said comfort zone may be. Because that misery serves them at some level. It’s true.
So, at the point where you find yourself not willing to take a leap of faith into some unknown territory that could possibly free you or move you forward from your current circumstance – or whatever it is that keeps you stuck and stationary on the path – one must look to the deep-seated patterns underneath that may be keeping you from healthy, positive, forward moving change. There is always some kind of fear at the bottom of that.
But, know this: If you’re unwilling to embrace positive change, and what’s in alignment with your highest and best soul growth, there’s going to come a time where the Universe is going to just foist it upon you anyway. This is what’s known as a “tower moment” in the Tarot. We grow from infancy to adulthood whether we want to or not.
The thing is that the more you resist change, the more of the very same existing patterns you create. It’s a spiral of patterning. The result is same lesson, different face, over and over again. What you resist is going to persist. And you’re going to keep meeting that resistance on the path in various forms until you freely choose to surrender and allow. What is your fear? What is your patterning? And do those patterns bring you happiness?
To effect forward movement, one must examine the patterns and belief systems that keep you stuck going around and around in your patterns and belief systems. Or not. It’s totally a choice to do that or not do it. But if you’re miserable and feel trapped in or by circumstances in some way, and don’t see a way out, yet want one, ask yourself where and how you make excuses for not being willing to change that circumstance.
Sometimes it’s denial. The ego can certainly fool us into a lot of illusions. “This can’t be right because it makes no sense.” There are a lot of things that don’t make sense to your linear mind but are totally right for you. Open to infinite possibilities.
Sometimes it’s more convenient to stay trapped because the patterns of “trapped,” “wounded,” “victimized,” “not good enough,” or “lacking,” are familiar to you, and therefore, possibly comfortable.
Sometimes it’s, “If I do this, then _________ will happen.” That’s a big assumption, because in truth you don’t know what will happen. You don’t. And that unknown – that possibly erroneous assumption – is one root of the inertia, one element of self-sabotage that keeps you from your ultimate desires.
You may think, and even convince yourself, that because you’ve had xyz experience in the past, that this new whatever it is will probably end up in that same place. That kind of narrow thinking is only going to create more of the same pattern that keeps you stuck in the first place. Excuses, all.
So, trust and leap, because that leap is going to bring you self-realization that leads you to another and another, and ultimately to highest and best. Fear is a very low frequency and vibration. Where do you want to vibrate? It’s a choice.
It takes a great deal of courage to leap into an unknown. It takes a great deal of courage to move forward. Discern. How does something feel? Then trust your intuition. Trust your gut. Face your fear. Feel the fear and then do it anyway, because fear is an illusion made up by your ego-self in some misguided attempt to keep you “safe.”
Or. . . fool yourself into thinking you get to remain in infancy.
